Little Mill Middle School Attendance
Do you need to report a student absence? Read below.
Reporting Absences:
The procedure for student absences has been updated. Please use the following QR code to report your student being absent. The form includes an option to upload a medical note as well.
Parent or medical notes can also be sent in with your student, delivered in person, or emailed. NO absences will be excused by phone.
For an absence to be considered excused, notes must be received within five (5) school days of the student's return. If a note is not received within the five-day time limit, it will be considered an unexcused absence.
- personal illness or attendance in school that endangers a student's health or the health of others;
- a serious illness or death in their immediate family necessitates absence from school;
- a court order or an order by a governmental agency, including pre-induction physical examinations for service in the armed forces, mandating absence from school;
- the observance of religious holidays, necessitating absence from school;
- conditions rendering attendance impossible or hazardous to student health or safety;
- a scheduled medical, dental or eye examination of the student;
- registering to vote or voting, for a period not to exceed one day,
- visiting a parent or legal guardian who is in the military service in the armed forces and has been called to duty or is on leave from overseas deployment to a combat zone or combat support post.
The student may be excused for a maximum of 5 days per school year.
Check-In:
- If arriving after 9:00 AM, students will report to the front office to check-in and receive a pass to class. Students may check themselves in without a parent/guardian.
Check-Out:
- When checking a student out, a photo I.D is REQUIRED.
- LMMS will not release any student to anyone who does not have an ID and is not on the student's approved pick-up list. To update this list, log in to Parent Portal, select the Demographics tab, and then add approved adults. You will need to do this for each student you
- If it is necessary for your student to check-out early due to an illness, they must see the school nurse first for it to be excused.
- When sending a detailed email requesting that your student be checked out by someone not listed in Parent Portal, the email must originate from a parent/guardian email address listed in Infinite Campus. Please include the name of the person checking your student out as it appears on their ID.
